Mr. Buffett is the Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, a holding company, which, as of 2018 owned a 5.6% stake in American Income’s parent company Torchmark Corporation.
Mr. Buffett as of 2018 was the world’s third-richest man (with a net worth of over $80 billion) and the richest person outside high-tech (#1 and #2 were Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Bill Gates, formerly of Microsoft). His Berkshire Hathaway wholly owns GEICO, Dairy Queen, BNSF, Fruit of the Loom, Helzberg Diamonds and NetJets (among other companies) and also has substantial stakes in Pilot Flying J, Kraft Heinz, American Express, Wells Fargo, Coca-Cola, Bank of America and Apple.
